Public Hearing Notice(s)

The City of Jacksonville Environmental Protection Board (Board) gives notice that it intends to conduct a public hearing relative to proposed amendments to EPB Rule 2 on August 17, 2020.  The hearing is currently scheduled to be held at the Ed Ball Building, Environmental Quality Division, 214 North Hogan Street, Fifth Floor, Jacksonville, Florida.  
The hearing is authorized by Sections 73.102, 362.104(c), (e) and (m), Ordinance Code, and Board Rule 1.  The proposed amendments to Rule 2 will update provisions of the rule and address substantive changes made by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) since July 15, 2019, as required by the Specific Operating Agreement between DEP and the City of Jacksonville's Environmental Quality Division.
Copies of the proposed rule may be reviewed at or obtained from the Office of the Environmental Protection Board, 214 North Hogan Street, Fifth Floor, Jacksonville, Florida, during normal working hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Mondays through Fridays, excluding legal holidays recognized by the City.
Any and all members of the general public are invited to be heard at the August 17, 2020, public hearing by personal appearance or written comment.  Written comments should be addressed to Amy Y. Fu, P.E., Chair, Environmental Protection Board, at 214 North Hogan Street, Fifth Floor, Jacksonville, FL, 32202, and must be received no later than August 14, 2020.

Jacksonville Environmental Protection Board Steering Committee

The Steering Committee of the Environmental Protection Board sets the agenda for the Monthly meetings and discerns issues of interest to the full board. The JEPB Chair, EPB Administrator, EQD Chief and JEPB Board Counsel are members. Other members may attend as needed. The Steering Committee meets monthly on the second Monday of the month at 4:00 p.m.


Jacksonville Environmental Protection Board Monthly Meetings

Regular board meetings are normally held on the third Monday of the month at 5 p.m. at 214 N. Hogan Street, 5th Floor, Conference Room West. The board also conducts public hearings whenever new rules, regulations, standards or funding requests are proposed. The public hearings are publicized in local newspapers and advance notice is given.

The public is invited to attend any meetings or hearings of the board in which they have an interest.

Notice is hereby given that the Jacksonville Environmental Protection Board (“JEPB”) will meet on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 5:00 pm. via Zoom pursuant to State of Florida Executive Order 20-69 (Emergency Management-COVID-19-Local Government Public Meetings). The purpose of this meeting is for the JEPB to consider and take action on items on the JEPB agenda which can be found at the following location:
The JEPB will also meet on Monday, August 24th at 5:00 pm for a retreat.  This meeting will also take place via ZOOM (meeting information is the same for both).

Public comments submitted by email must be received no later than 3:00 p.m. on the date of the meeting to be read during the public comment portion of the meeting.
